If Luke, Obi-Wan, Han and Chewie had left 30 minutes earlier, they would have arrived on Alderaan and been killed when the Death Star blew it up, and the Empire would have unknowingly destroyed the stolen plans for the Death Star.

Just rewatching ANH today and realized how close the timing is. Alderaan is destroyed while they're in hyperspace. And a few minutes later they arrive at a destroyed Alderaan. If they had left Tatooine even a half hour earlier they would have landed and been killed with the rest of Alderaan and the Rebellion would never have gotten the plans to the Death Star. via /r/StarWars http://ift.tt/2A7wjHh
